Mary Jane is an artist working in pastel, watercolor, and graphic arts. Her pastel and watercolor paintings, frequently landscape, have been accepted in several juried shows. Her work Under Gray Skies, a pastel landscape painting, was chosen as Best of Show in the 1997-98 Spectrum Downtown Gallery Winter Show. Mary Jane also won two awards in the 1998 Salon des Refuses show, the Projections Award and the SeaGate / Common Space Gallery Award. As winner of the SeaGate / Common Space Award, Mary Jane had a solo show at the SeaGate Gallery in February of 1999, where she sold a record number of paintings for the gallery. She also received Third Place in the 1999 Impressions of Nature Show and won a Certificate Award at the 1999 Salon des Refuses show. Mary Jane has also been selected to display her work at the Collector’s Corner in the Toledo Museum of Art.
As a graphic artist, Mary Jane specializes in the design of computer graphics and Internet websites. Her work in this area has earned her much recognition, such as an “Infoseek Select Site” award, for the best sites on the Internet in both design and content. She was also featured by Microsoft in their web magazine, One Click Away, as well as featured by local television news channels.
Mary Jane has served as a member of the Toledo Artists’ Club Board, and as President of the Spectrum Gallery.
